Recovery gaining momentum in Florida?

Positive news from the superyacht refit sector over recent days highlights that recovery is gaining momentum in Florida. As to the refit sector this recovery maybe patchy as Merrill-Stevens announced earlier this month that they were withdrawing from repair work. Better news comes from Bradford Marine and the Dania Cut Super Yacht Repair Facility with the two joining forces to market repair and refit services to yachts of 61m (200ft) or more.

The combination of more locations and sharing resources is seen by both companies as beneficial. Bradford has recently entered a similar deal with the Grand Bahama Shipyard working with its facility at Freeport. With combined services, Bradford Marine offers its repair and refit services to larger megayachts at an additional location, and Dania Cut's capabilities are enhanced with Bradford Marine's services.

Speaking about the deal Bradford Marine's president Paul Engle says: "We're very pleased to combine resources with Dania Cut to enable Bradford Marine to provide their highly-regarded services at an additional location." Likewise with Dania where its president Chip MacPherson says, "This combination expands Dania Cut's ability to provide full repair services for large yachts utilizing Bradford Marine's state-of-the-art equipment and its team of highly-skilled craftsmen. We're also pleased to have the benefit of priority booking for hauling yachts of all sizes at Bradford Marine Bahamas' facility."
