Perini signs 40m supersail yacht
Italian superyacht builder Perini Navi Group has sold a 40m (131ft) fast cruising cutter, the third new contract signed by the company in 2009.
Hull C 2180 is set for delivery in 2012 and is designed by Perini Navi's in-house team together with Ron Holland. Her hull and superstructure will be built in lightweight aluminium with a displacement of 210 tons.
The yacht will feature a 50m (164ft) carbon-fibre mast and carbon in-boom furling along with Perini Navi reel captive winches and control system.
Signed in December 2009, the cutter adds to Perini Navi's 2009-2013 order book, which presently includes 11 yachts — eight sailing yachts under the Perini Navi brand and three Vitruvius motoryachts under the Picchiotti brand.
Established in the early 1980s, Perini Navi Group comprises Perini Navi, Cantieri Navali Beconcini, Picchiotti, Perini Istanbul and Perini Navi USA.
