Key West marina changes ownership

One of Key West's marinas with superyacht berthing capacity has recently changed hands and there are plans to enhance its facilities. The Conch Harbor marina is a full service facility offering 40 slips up to 56m (185ft). It has been bought by Craig Hunt, a local retired former hotel executive. He is a captain and enthusiastic fisherman.

Hunt comments that he "will be launching new programs with the goal of making Conch Harbour the best marina for locals." The combination of its location and facilities make it "a superior facility not only for Key West but also throughout the Florida Keys," he adds.

A majority of the berths have been sold but several others are part of the marina's rental programme. Because of its retail and leisure facilities, the marina is a destination in its own right. Apart from the berths the marina offers a dedicated fuelling dock, shower and laundry facilities, cable TV and telephone and chandlery and fishing supplies. No indication of the purchase price has been made known.
