Italian superyacht refit and repair yard Amico & Co has installed an 835-tonne travel lift at its Genoa facility, part of a €6.4m investment plan for 2009/2010.

A further €4.6m has also been earmarked for new investments.

The new travel lift is capable of hauling out yachts of up to 60m (197ft).

Amico & Co expects turnover in 2010 to reach similar levels as in 2008, following a dip in 2009.

The Genoa-based refit yard employs 120 permanent staff and 120 non-permanent staff at a 30,000m² facility. The yard features 10 refit sheds of up to 75m (246ft) LOA and a technical marina offering mooring for yachts up to 120m (394ft).

Eighty-five per cent of Amico & Co's turnover is generated by overseas clients. In 2007/2008 Amico & Co invested €5m in the company.
