Hydro Tec builds 60m yacht at Naples yard
A 60m (199ft) yacht designed by Italian studio Hydro Tec is under construction at Palumbo Shipyard in Naples, Italy, for launch in 2011. The five-deck Columbus 199 features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and will be built in accordance with the Rina Green Star class. The yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven cabins. Another Columbus series yacht — the 54m (177ft) Columbus 177 — is also near the end of its construction at Palumbo Shipyard. Both yachts are being built as part of an agreement between the owner of the boats and the shipyard. Founded in 1995 by Sergio Cutolo, Hydro Tec is a naval engineering firm based in Varazze in northern Italy.
