Palmer Johnson launches first UK build
US-based builder Palmer Johnson has launched the first yacht from its new yard in Southampton, England — the PJ170 Sportsyacht.
The company told SBN that the PJ170 — known as number 501 — is for a repeat customer and will cruise the Mediterranean in the coming months.
Designed by Nuvolari-Lenard the PJ170 combines what the yard describes as a sleek and aggressive stance with technical advancements including dual gyro-stabilizers.
PJ is currently building two other PJ170s — one in the UK and one in the US. It has not been confirmed whether buyers have been found yet.
The yard is also building two PJ210 Sportyachts — again one in the UK with the other in the US. Both are due for completion in 2011.
Also in-build in the US is a PJ135 while in Norway work has begun on the 82m PJ World explorer yacht.
