Broward sets out comeback plans

With new owners, management team and facilities, Broward Shipyard has made its first steps towards an international comeback.

The new business momentum comes from the head of the new management Philippe Brandligt — who has previous experience at Moonen and Amels.

He says the new strategy — which uses production methods that have helped the success of Europe's leading yards along with more competitive pricing and extended warranties — will make Broward Shipyard "lean and mean".

The refit team is to be strengthened while on the new-build front Broward is committed to developing a series of triple deck motoryachts.

A phased upgrade of the yard — to include a deepening of the main channel to 18ft and improvements to quays to accommodate yachts up to 200ft (61m) — will facilitate more cost-efficient production.
