New speakers added to Asia conference
The Superyacht Singapore Association (SSA) has added new speakers to the programme of the 2nd Asia Superyacht Conference, which runs from October 12-14 at ONEº15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove, Singapore.
Johnny Chueh, owner principal of Ocean Alexander Yachts, will provide an insight into superyacht construction opportunities in Asia. The company builds yachts from 15m-76m (50ft-250ft) from facilities in Taiwan and China.
Also from China will be William Jelbert of racing yacht specialist McConaghy Boats. Jelbert will provide a range of examples of successful construction projects in China.
In terms of customer focus, Gordon Hui of Sunseeker Asia will give a presentation on the needs of Asian customers. This will be supported by Jean-Jacques Lavigne, executive director of the Superyacht Singapore Association, who will provide statistics on superyacht ownership in Asia and discuss the impact of visiting cruising yachts.
Other speakers will include award-winning yachtsman Aashim Mongia of West Coast Marine Services in India; David McQueen, chairman of Superyacht Base Australia; and Greg Parker of Waitakere Properties in New Zealand.
Around 200 superyacht professionals from around the world are expected to attend this year's conference. Presentations will be supported by panel discussions and interaction, as well as a tour of marinas in Singapore — all designed to showcase the many business opportunities on offer in the Asia-Pacific region.
Those wishing to attend are reminded that the 'early bird booking rate' ends on August 31, 2010.
