Watkins Superyachts is to introduce a new two-day ISM (International Safety Management) Code course in response to requests from clients and following discussions with Red Ensign registries.

Principally an internal lead auditor course, the training will also focus on how external audits are conducted — and address the commercial aspect that often marginalises crews of large yachts.

The ISM Code has recently been revised and the course will therefore include a session on formal risk assessment with an emphasis on yacht-friendly compliance.

The first course is to be held at the Hotel Ambassadeur, Juan Les Pins, France, on October 12-13 at a cost of €450.00 per delegate.

It will benefit any captain or crew member who is either new to ISM or requires a refresher. It will also be of interest to crews of self-managed commercial yachts where shore-based management support may be minimal and ISM compliance may be required.

All participants will obtain a certificate on completion. Further courses can also be arranged and tailored for crew on board or ashore.
