Mengi Yay has begun the construction of a new 40m (131ft) sloop, Extreme, at its shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul.

The build is under the management of Yacht Marine Ltd, with naval architecture and design by Ginton Naval Architects and interior design by Guido de Groot Design.

She will have a semi-fin keel and spade rudders located behind two Variprop propellers.

Extreme is scheduled for delivery in 2013.
