First Perini Navi 60m hull arrives at Viareggio yard
Hull C.2193, the first of the two yachts sold in the new-generation series of 60m (197ft) sailing yachts built by Perini Navi, has arrived at the company's Viareggio facility, where finishing, launching and delivery — scheduled for 2013 — will take place.
The 500t aluminium hull and superstructure were built in the Perini Istanbul-Yildiz shipyard, the group's Turkish base. The new hull lines, which can be seen as a natural evolution of Perini's 56m (184ft) series, guarantee speed, comfort and ample spaces for indoor and outdoor living.
Designed by Perini Navi's naval architects in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland, the hull will have a sail control system designed by Perini Navi and a lifting keel that goes from 4m-12m (13ft-39ft).
The second yacht in the 50m aluminium series will be delivered in May 2012 and the first yacht in the 40m (131ft) fast cruising line will be delivered at the end of the summer.
The Perini Navi Group is also constructing the third yacht in the 60m series and a 38m (125ft) superyacht in their Racing Line. Both these yachts could be ready for delivery in less than two years.
