EnglishPoint Marina being developed at Mombasa, Kenya, is on schedule to open at the end of the year.

It's Kenya's first international class marina, providing 90 berths for craft from 6m-40m (20ft-131ft) on pontoons. The exact number of superyacht berths has not been finalised.

EnglishPoint Marina is part of a resort development in the northern part of Mombasa and will include berths for visiting yachts, which willbe fully serviced with fresh water, power, internet, satellite, TV, fuel and pump-out facilities available.

The marina includes a slipway, full security service, a hotel, apartments, retail outlets, a water sports centre, spa and gym facilities and a restaurant.

A ferry service will give direct access to Mombasa Island and the airport.

"We're on schedule to open in December," says a spokeswoman for the marina. "We have received a lot of enquiries from the yachting community and the development has created a substantial amount of interest.

"We will be the first floating pontoon marina in East Africa."
