Oceanair set to move to new premises
By IBI Magazine / David Foxwell
Oceanair Marine Ltd, the British manufacturer of blinds for boats, is planning to move to new premises later this year. Oceanair - which operates in 30 countries worldwide through a network of dealers and distributors - is currently based on two sites near Chichester on the south coast of the UK, but is planning to move to a new, larger facility. Sales and marketing director Angus Peel told IBI that the new facility would enable the company to accommodate all of its operations under one roof, and expand to meet growing demand for its products. "Business is strong," said Peel, noting that Oceanair was securing growth in most markets, primarily as a result of a recent marketing campaign, he believed, and deals with major boatbuilders worldwide. Peel said growth was also coming from the US market, but the low value of the dollar was becoming an issue with any business exporting to the US. He also noted that the company was exceeding sales targets for the current financial year and had a "healthy business plan" for continued growth. Oceanair launched an innovative roller blind at the Schroders London Boat Show in January, and recently announced that it was moving into the vehicle market in a joint venture with a Dutch manufacturer.
