Muir launches range of anchor controllers

A new range of electronic anchor controllers and chaincounters are now available from Muir.

Top of the range is the Auto Anchor 500RCX model which will dock the anchor automatically, by remote control, ideal for vessels where it is difficult to see the windlass or anchor rode from the helm.

The 500RCX also incorporates motor overload protection and automatic cut out to stop the anchoring operation if the windlass jams. It is operable with all chain or rope/chain combination rodes and it replaces the solenoids with solid state switching.

The AutoAnchor is compatible with all brands of windlass. It is housed in an attractive and compact console unit with a large backlit LCD display. All AutoAnchor models have a safety lock to reduce unwanted windlass operation, adjustable red backlighting for easier night operation and electronic diagnostics to provide troubleshooting information.

Marketing manager, Alex Johnston says "Boat owners like the security in knowing the length of anchor rode deployed. They also like the safety lock and the ability to preset the length of anchor rode to be deployed. The automatic function provides safer, single handed anchoring from the helm station."
