Danish Navy buys two Storebro Royal Cruiser boats
By IBI Magazine
Swedish boatbuilder Storebro has signed a new contract with the Danish Navy to deliver two Storebro 90E high-speed patrol boats for the 2006 summer season. The Danish Navy already has four of the same boats. Storebro 90E was developed in co-operation with the Swedish Administration of Defence Material, Shipbuilding Division, and was built in accordance with Royal Swedish Navy standards. The keel area and the chines are protected against impact and abrasion to withstand landing operations on rocky shorelines. The new boats will be stationed on inspection vessels patrolling Greenland, and will be placed in the water from the stern of the bigger boats. They will be used for inspections, transport of personnel and materials, as well as safety duties. Storebro Royal Cruiser has built and delivered approximately 60 Storebro 90Es for military and civilian use in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Lithuania and China.
