Shanghai to get new 'yachting city'
By IBI Magazine
The Shanghai government is to launch a new 'yachting city' in the Fengxian district of China that will offer strong investment opportunities for potential partners, including boatbuilders, engine manufacturers, yacht designers and yacht service companies wanting to establish a presence in the Chinese market. Located at the junction of two rivers linked to Hangzhou Bay in Shanghai, the new Fengxian development boasts more than 10km of coastline and over 3,000 acres of water. It will include a leisure area and an industrial zone with practical living space in four major areas. These include: - Jinhui Harbour Yacht City, which will connect the yacht harbour, yacht club, yacht exhibition centre, tourism centre and the water-related entertainment facilities.
- Nanqiao, a living area located in the southern Fengxian area, with 9sq km of ecological forest including 1,550 acres for yachts, wharfs and water townhouses.
- Hangzhou Bay Yacht Tourist Park, an area with white-sand beaches and numerous attractions that will become Shanghai's watersports hub and yacht wharf, with golf courses, tennis courts, hotels and a conference centre.
- Fengxian Yacht Industrial Zone, located at the entry of Jinghui harbour, which will offer international management, an aggressive tax scheme and facilities to fulfill the requirements of high-to-medium-end yacht production.
