Africa's largest boat show will now be named the WesBank National Boat Show, according to a statement from the National Boat Show in South Africa. "WesBank Leisure Finance has been looking for an opportunity to share its passion for the boating industry in South Africa and the sponsorship of the WesBank National Boat Show is the perfect medium for this," said Heidi Warricker, managing director of BizEvents and organiser of the WesBank National Boat Show. The statement noted that WesBank intends to support the growth of South Africa's leisure market, and that the financial institution currently finances one in every three cars in South Africa. "WesBank is skilled in tailor making finance packages for all forms of leisure craft, ranging from powerboats and jet skis to luxury ocean going yachts," said Koos Swanepoel, CEO of WesBank Leisure Finance, in the statement. The boat show is the largest on the African continent, according to the statement. It has over 150 exhibitors displaying more than 200 boats at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg. Dive 2006, the expo dedicated to scuba diving, will also take place at the WesBank National Boat Show. Organisers expect about 30,000 attendees for the August 18-20th show.
