Magazines from 10 European countries, including Boote (Germany), Motor Boat and Yachting (UK), Barche a Motore (Italy), Waterkampioen (The Netherlands) and Yate (Spain), nominated possible candidates over the course of 2006 before the panel produced a shortlist of yachts.
