Asia Dive Expo to team up with Boat Thai 2007

By IBI Magazine

The 13th edition of Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) and the inaugural Boat Thai 2007 will be joined as a single show at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in late April. Organisers said in a statement that the two shows will provide "deeper synergies" for both exhibitors and visitors.

One of the oldest dive shows in Asia, ADEX has focused on the dive industry and related businesses. The show will include the Dive Business Seminar Series for dive trade members as well as equipment displays for consumers.

The inaugural Boat Thai, according to the statement, is one of the first international boat shows to be held in the heart of Thailand. It will target Thai consumers as well as the expatriate community.

Organisers believe that the combined trade shows should provide an increase in visitor attendance. Both events are on target to attract a total of 400 exhibitors and more than 17,000 visitors.

"We have supported both Boat Thai and ADEX from the beginning and welcome this move to collocate both events as an intelligent one which benefits all parties," said Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Director of Exhibitions, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). "While they may target different categories of visitors, cross-overs are very likely given the fluidity of interests and preferences, leisure pursuits and even income brackets these days."

The event will take place from April 27-29, 2007.
