New marina planned for the Netherlands
By IBI Magazine
Jongert and S&A Project Development of The Netherlands have signed an agreement for the development of a new 300-berth marina on IJsselmeer Lake.
Marina Suydersee, which is expected to be operational by the beginning of 2009, will be located between Medemblik and Den Oever in the Wieringermeer district — a location that was strategically chosen for its close proximity to the Jongert shipyard.
When completed, it will offer 300 berths from 12m-26m (39ft-85ft) and 40 boathouses with a total water surface of more than 150m². Some 240 heated storerooms will also be created in a covered hall exclusively for berth owners.
"Intended for the premium market sector, Marina Suydersee will be built to a luxurious standard," says Jongert. "It will offer unprecedented service levels and facilities, especially in comparison with current Dutch standards. Mooring at Marina Suydersee will be an all-round living experience."
An esplanade will be created at Marina Suydersee, with 14 business and/or shopping units for marine-related companies. Above the units, 12 apartments and two south-facing penthouses with a view of the marina will also be built, as well as a luxury hotel with high-quality restaurant and conference rooms.
On the first floor of the hall, in the central area, space will be available to nautical companies for the development of a showroom and/or business premises of approximately 8,000m². There will also be an all-weather complex with swimming pool, squash courts, a fitness centre, sauna and other leisure possibilities.
