B&G signs deal with GRIB.US

By IBI Magazine

The UK's Brookes & Gatehouse (B&G), manufacturer of navigational equipment for performance sailors, has entered into a partnership with GRIB.US that will enable the complete integration of enhanced weather data into B&G's navigation platforms for racing yachts worldwide. Co-founders of GRIB.US, Steve Hayles and Marcel van Triest, are well-known top Grand Prix navigators and weather routers.

"We initially developed the GRIB.US software to meet our needs, as we required high quality and reliable weather information that we could gain access to quickly when racing," says van Triest. "As the software pulls many data sources into one central server we are able to deliver worldwide weather coverage, which has meant that we have been able to offer access to others who would equally benefit from the high resolution weather data via our website."

B&G says that it will shortly be announcing product enhancements that take advantage of the new GRIB.US technology. "We are very committed to developing and enhancing our products, and are currently working alongside GRIB.US to utilise our complementary technologies for the benefit of our customers worldwide," says Richard Acland, managing director of B&G.
