Island Packet appoints UK dealer rep

By IBI Magazine

Island Packet Yachts in the US has announced the appointment of Premier Yacht Sales as its new dealer representative for the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. As a result, Premier Yacht Sales will display four Island Packets at this year's Southampton Boat Show, including the world debut of the new Island Packet 465, and the SP Cruiser motorsailer.

"Premier's ideal central location in Swanwick, and their highly knowledgeable staff, makes this a very easy decision for us," says Bill Bolin, vice president of sales and marketing for Island Packet Yachts. "The UK market has been incredibly strong for us over the years and to have some key alumni from our longstanding relationship with Peters Opal now on staff at Premier is an ideal scenario for us and for existing Island Packet owners."

Bolin says that all customer service and sales support functions for the company will continue at their current high level under the Premier Yacht Sales banner.

Premier Yacht Sales was originally part of the Moody group and, following the acquisition of Moody by Premier Marinas in December 2005, the Moody yacht sales operation became an integral part of the Premier business, and now trades as Premier Yacht Sales Limited.

Founded in 1979 by Bob Johnson, Island Packet Yachts builds bluewater cruising sailboats from a 125,000sq ft facility in Largo, Florida. The company, which employs more than 175 people, has won numerous industry awards, including five Boat of the Year Awards and four Customer Satisfaction Awards.
