Peters Opal court dates announced

By IBI Magazine/Practical Boat Owner

A date has been set for the hearing to decide how much is owed to Peters Opal creditors in the wake of the collapse of Peters PLC earlier this year.

It has been set to last for two or three days commencing on the first available date between March 12-14, 2008.

The preliminary court hearing took place on November 6, 2007 at the the UK's High Court of Justice, followed by a creditors' meeting in Arundel. It's thought that as much as £1.5 million of debt remains after all the assets have been sold, although chief executive Brian Peters has stated that he believes there may be a surplus.

Administrators KPMG attempted to sell the business as a going concern, but ended up selling it off in five separate sections within two months of taking over.
