Nimbus Boats buys Paragon Yachts
By IBI Magazine
Swedish boatbuilder Nimbus Boats has bought all shares in Finnish yard Paragon Yachts Oy.
In a statement issued by the company, Nimbus says that Paragon's models will complement existing Nimbus lines.
Founder of Paragon Sakari Mattila said that Nimbus' production capacity and dealer network would be of benefit to fast-growing Paragon.
Nimbus makes sports cruisers of 26ft-32ft (8m-10m). The firm has production facilities in Mariestad and Visby, with its headoffice in Gothenburg.
Paragon builds sport utility boats, including a new 25ft (8m) model that was voted boat of the show at the Helsinki boat show.
"Buying Paragon will help us in the process of presenting an attractive product more quickly in this interesting segment, while allowing us to continue with dynamic product development in our existing segments," says Lennart Svantesson of Nimbus Boats.
