Alcan Airex signs Turkish distributor

Alcan Airex, the European arm of global composites brand Alcan Composites Core Materials, has named Metyx Composites of Turkey as the exclusive Turkish distributor of Alcan Airex products.
Regional sales manager with Alcan Airex Fredi Kaufmann says that sales of Alcan Airex products through Metyx exceeded expectations for the first quarter.
Metyx's vice president of new business development Ugur Ustunel said that after growing the market for Alcan Airex in Turkey, there are plans to invest in a core material conversion facility at Metyx's Istanbul headquarters.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Alcan Composites produces brands such as Airex and Baltek, which are used to make lightweight sandwich structures.
Metyx manufactures high-performance reinforcements including multiaxial and RTM product groups. It also offers consulting services and distribution of composite products.
