Hansvik and Kellox in big investment for boat production
By IBI Magazine/Lars-Åke Redéen
Norwegian companies boatbuilder Hansvik Båt AS and marine distributor AS Kellox will make a joint investment to manufacture and distribute a series of new boat models for the Scandinavian market.
Hansvik will take charge of developing the new models and production methods, while Kellox will look after distribution in Norway and the rest of Scandinavia. Hansvik is set to be launched in Sweden and Denmark, where Kellox is already established.
"This is an offensive investment in a growing market," says Per-Anton Vinje, administrative manager at Kellox. "Hansviks will strengthen its distribution at the same time as Kellox strengthens its distribution and offer to dealers as well as end consumers."
"With this investment we'll be well prepared to react to customer demand in a very comfortable way," says Roger Hansvik, joint owner of Hansvik.
Hansvik is a producer of pleasure and work boats built in glass fibre, GRP. The company was founded in 1966, and has always been owned and run by Finn and Roger Hansvik. The company produces a range of models, from small rowing dinghies to 32ft (10m) sport cruisers.
Kellox imports and distributes Honda outboard engines and boats from Pioner, Terhi, Achilles, Ranieri and AMT. With almost 50 dealers across Norway and a turnover of NOK220m the company is one of Norway's largest importers for marine leisure.
