De Vries Makkum Shipyard, one of two De Vries yards in Royal Dutch Shipyards group Feadship, has been named Frisian Company of the Year following a public vote in the Dutch province of Friesland.
A jury of experts from local government and industry praised the yard's professionalism and innovation.
"We received numerous letters from the yard's personnel recommending their employer, which speaks volumes for their commitment to the De Vries family," said jury chair Sjoerd Galema of Economic Affairs, province of Friesland.
De Vries Makkum is primarily responsible for building the new Feadship XL range and for refits of Feadships.
Feadship is a cooperation between Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, Royal Van Lent and De Voogt, and produces custom-built motor yachts.
