Yamaha Motor Scandinavia imports Buster to Norway

By IBI Magazine/Lars-Åke Redéen

Yamaha Motor Scandinavia and the Finnish manufacturer of Buster boats Inha Bruk Ab have signed a longterm agreement for the distribution of Buster aluminium boats in Sweden, Norway and Denmark in time for the 2009 season.

As a result of the new agreement, Buster will gain access to a wide distribution network active throughout Scandinavia, while the Yamaha dealer will expand into the Norwegian market.

Yamaha Motor Scandinavia has been the importer of Buster boats for Sweden since 1998 and for Denmark since 2003. In Norway the distribution has been handled by a privately owned company, Björn Fjellhaug AS in Bergen, since the early 1990s.

All Buster boats will be pre-rigged with a Yamaha engine control box and instruments. The advantage for the customers is that the boats can be delivered faster, even during high season.

Part of the company Fiskars Oyi Abp, which is floated at the OMX Nordiska Börs in Helsinki, Buster has its own production facility in Ähtari, Finland. Inha Bruk produces 4,000 aluminium boats of 4m-7m (13ft-23ft) per year with a turnover of €42m for 2007.

Yamaha Motor Scandinavia has sales offices in Stockholm, Oslo and Odense. The company has 72 employees and a turnover of SEK2,100m for this year. The company also distributes Yamarin, Finnmaster and Grandezza boats.
