ACR reports record sales for fiscal 2007

ACR Electronics said today it achieved record sales in fiscal 2007. A statement noted that sales were up 15.5 per cent over the same period in 2006. But the company did not release the actual sales figures. "This is a year of change," Paul Frank, ACR president, told members of ACR's global sales organisation in a meeting at its Ft Lauderdale headquarters. The electronics industry, Frank noted, is facing "a stagnant and difficult economy, fierce competition, rising costs and severe pricing pressure." But he said that the company was committed to growth. "ACR has launched a company-wide Lean Initiative that will allow us to more efficiently design, build, purchase, market and sell our life-saving products with the ultimate beneficiary being the consumer," he told the group. The company also launched a new marketing strategy called "The Science of Survival", which is designed to communicate the quality technology that Frank said comprises the foundation of ACR's reputation. ACR manufactures emergency beacons, EPIRBs, and PLBs. ACR said that that its outdoor sales were up 87 per cent, due primarily to ACR's line of PLBs, and North American marine sales were up by 7.9 per cent. International and government sales, including the ACR Europe office, also reported increases in 2007, though the company did not give specific figures. The Science of Survival campaign will be extended to its marketing materials, website and trade show booths. "Consumers will begin seeing these new initiatives on the store shelves, in the media, in our brochures and on our web site over the course of the next several months," said Paul Hardin, vice president of sales and marketing, in the statement.
