Southco opens new manufacturing facility
By IBI Magazine
Marine hardware specialist Southco has opened a new manufacturing facility in Concordville, Pennsylvania, to better serve its North American clients.
The new Injection Molding and Rapid Prototyping Center of Excellence is housed at Pennsylvania's Concordville Campus and is the result of several million dollars of investment.
"In an era of declining manufacturing in the US and here in the Philadelphia region, the creation of this mission-critical Injection Molding and Rapid Prototyping Center of Excellence will enable Southco to continue to develop and manufacture innovative products and provide superior service to our customers," says Brian McNeill, president and CEO of Southco.
McNeill says that the opening of the facility is part of the company's proactive restructuring plan to rebalance its operations around the globe, while maintaining its roots in Pennsylvania.
Southco offers a wide range of locks, latches, hinges, handles and captive fasteners for the marine and other markets. The group serves more than 70,000 customers in 70 countries with 3,000 employees worldwide.
