Lack of berths on the agenda at first Argentine boating forum

By IBI Magazine

A lack of berths and storage space was high on the agenda at the first Argentine boating forum in Buenos Aires last month, organised by the Argentine boating industry association Cacel.

Human resources was another problem for the Argentine boating industry identified at the forum, with universities and local authorities encouraged to offer more training opportunities.

Designers, engineers, boatbuilders and marina owners were among 260 attendees at the event, which took place on June 24 and 25. Panellists spoke about market trends, boating growth, exports and taxation.

Cacel (Camara Argentina de Constructores de Embarcaciones) says that Argentina's boat exports have grown steadily for the last six years. The organisation has represented the Argentine boating industry since 1969.
