Fountain Powerboats plans to add 250 jobs

Fountain Powerboats will add 250 jobs over the next five years, and create a US$12 million expansion to its plant in Beaufort, North Carolina. Governor Mike Easley announced the expansion at the boatbuilder's headquarters on the Pamlico River. Fountain said the company will expand in order to build the Baja boat line that it purchased from Brunswick Corp earlier this year. Easley told the Associated Press that the company could recive up to US$2.5 million in incentive grants if Fountain creates enough jobs and sustains them for 11 years.
