METS catalogue goes digital
By IBI Magazine
METS organiser Amsterdam RAI and IBI magazine are to send out advance digital copies of this year's show catalogue instead of the paper copies that used to be sealed in with the October issue of IBI.
The digital catalogue offers multiple search and weblink options to enable visitors to efficiently plan their visit to METS and increases efficiency of distribution. The catalogue will include links to exhibitor 'MyPages' on www.metstrade.com to enable viewers to easily access additional information and will be PDA compatible to make it easy for readers who are travelling. The decision is also in line with the recently defined corporate social responsibility strategy of Amsterdam RAI to help protect the environment. "The digital version will save paper, and speed up and expand the distribution process of the catalogue before the show opens," explains METS product manager Irene Dros. "Visitors from all over the world, as opposed to just Europe, will now be able to view the catalogue in advance, giving them the heads-up they need on the show." In addition, a hard copy pull-out floor plan will be sent to all IBI magazine readers worldwide one month before METS opens. Hard copies of the catalogue and floor plan will be available as usual on site during METS. Both catalogue and floor plan are printed on FSC accredited paper.
METS 2008 will be held from November 18-20 in the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre.
