Yamaha Motor Corp acquires Precision Propeller

By IBI Magazine

Yamaha Motor Corporation has acquired the assets of Indianapolis-based Precision Propeller, Inc. The company said in a statement that the new subsidiary will be called Precision Propeller Industries, Inc, and fall under the responsibility of the Yamaha Marine Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Yamaha manufactures outboard motors from 2.5hp-350 hp. "The marine outboard industry is complex," said Phil Dyskow, president of Yamaha Marine Group, in the statement. "We need to have the right outboard motors for our customers and all the right hardware to go along with them. PPI employees will help us supply them. We value their knowledge and skill."

Yamaha said it intends to retain the workers and make capital investments in the Indiana facility.
