McMurdo appoints Finnish distributor

McMurdo, a UK manufacturer of marine safety equipment, has chosen Furuno Finland Oy to distribute its emergency distress beacons, NAVTEX and emergency VHF radios on the Finnish market.

Located some 14km from Helsinki in the city of Espoo, Furuno Finland will distribute McMurdo's products alongside its own brands of navigation and communication equipment, in particular to professional maritime and leisure marine suppliers and retailers. The company will also open up the growing land-based and general aviation markets for the emergency beacons.

A division of Signature Industries, McMurdo produces Emergency Positioning Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs), VHF Radios and NAVTEX for the marine and other markets. The company was founded in 1937 and is based in Portsmouth, Devon.
