Grand Banks holds dealer meeting

By IBI Magazine

Grand Banks Yachts held its annual dealer meeting in Singapore last week, paying tribute to the "outstanding achievements" of its top dealers.

Boatworks Yacht Sales, which has offices in Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode Island, received the 2007 Dealer of the Year Award for the highest level of Grand Banks sales.

Regional dealer awards went to Passage Maker Yachts in Seattle for Top US West Coast Dealer, Grand Banks Italia for Top European Dealer, and recently appointed R Marine for Top Dealer in Asia and Australia. The overall best individual sales award went to Paolo Murzi of GB Italia.

"Despite conditions in the economy and the industry, Grand Banks and our dealers have continued to drive demand for our boats," says Grand Banks president Rob Livingston. "As a result, our production backlog is even better now than it was last year, with much of the order book for 2009 filled up."

During the event, Grand Banks also introduced the GB 41 Heritage EU — the first Grand Banks yacht to be equipped with the new Zeus Propulsion System from Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD). The 12.6m (41ft) yacht will make its public debut in the US during the autumn boat show season.

"We've sold out our production schedule on this model well into the foreseeable future, with every dealer taking at least one and many with several on order," adds Livingston. "But it's not just the 41EU - there's a lot to be excited about across each of our Eastbay, Heritage and Aleutian Series."

Founded in Hong Kong in 1956, Grand Banks Yachts has been building pleasure boats for export to the US and European markets for half a century. The group is responsible for the Heritage, Eastbay and Aleutian series, and has its corporate head office in Seattle, Washington.
