Blue Ocean gets new owners

By IBI Magazine/Lars-Ĺke Redéen

Sweden's Blue Ocean Yachts, which represents Bénéteau sailboats on the Swedish market, has revealed that Peter Wittander and Torbjörn Jönsson have taken ownership of the company as of August 15.

PA Malmgren, who has owned Blue Ocean for 25 years, will remain with the company, whose head office will move from Helsingborg to Höganäs harbour in southwest Sweden. Malmgren will be responsible for sales of Bénéteau sailboats on the Swedish west coast together with the new owners.

Employees in Stockholm, together with two from the Helsingborg office, will remain with the company and will be responsible for sales on Sweden's east coast.

The owners of the new company are already involved in the marine business through their company Öresunds marina in Höganäs. The company sells Nimbus Yachts, Storebro Royal Cruiser, Maxi Yachts, Silver and Örnvik (same as Quicksilver) boats.

The goal for the new company is to further strengthen the Bénéteau brand in Sweden.
