Tracker Marine to cut over 100 jobs at Bolivar, Missouri plant

By IBI Magazine

Tracker Marine is permanently reducing the workforce in its Bolivar, Missouri facility by 104 workers. The company said it is transferring production of its Deep-V aluminium fishing boat line to another Tracker facility in Lebanon, Missouri.

According to local news sources, the Bolivar plant had 234 employees last May. The Bolivar Herald Free Press reported that, although all affected employees have been offered jobs in Lebanon, there are rumors in Bolivar that the plant will close altogether.

Tracker spokesman Larry Whitely said that these rumors are untrue. Whitely told IBI that excess capacity in the Lebanon facility prompted the transfer of the Deep-V line out of Bolivar. But Tracker will continue to build other boat lines in Bolivar.
