Star Computers teams up with Rolec
By IBI Magazine
The UK's Star Computers has integrated its HavenStar marina management software with Rolec Services' networked electricity and water management systems.
HavenStar is now fully compatible with Berthmaster and Smartmaster pedestals. The Berthmaster system allows a marina operator to control, monitor and invoice for electricity and water consumed at each individual berth, while the Smartmaster is centred on a smartcard which is issued to each berth user. The card is charged with credit and is used to pay for services consumed by swiping it through the Smartmaster pedestal card reader.
Information from the pedestals is sent automatically to HavenStar's front desk point of sale, accounting and billing applications which in turn feed into extensive management and financial reporting modules across one or multiple locations.
"Berthmaster and Smartmaster are fully computerised, enabling staff in the marina office to switch power sockets and water taps on and off, log digital meter readings, raise consumption invoices and accept payment through their PCs," says Kieron Alsop, managing director of Rolec Services Ltd. "HavenStar takes this functionality up a level, transferring relevant data into the system's overall management programs."
Used by more than 100 marinas in the UK and Europe, HavenStar software automates and simplifies operational and administrative tasks for leisure marinas, harbours and waterways. It provides real-time views of marina occupancy and instant access to customer account history, resulting in speedier processing of reservations, billing and contract management. The software also offers user-configurable contract, invoice, statement and receipt templates.
