MIBS 2010 attracts strong exhibitor list

Spenta Multimedia has confirmed that the 2010 Mumbai International Boat Show (MIBS) will be held next year from February 18-21 at the city's Bandra Kurla Complex and the marina adjacent to the Gateway of India.
Spenta, which acquired the Mumbai show and Blue Water Publications, publisher of India Boating magazine, in September 2009, says that it is committed to make MIBS the largest boat show in the region. Confirmed exhibitors already include Ocean Style/Burgess, Sunreef, Azimut, Mahindra Odyssea, Ava Marine, Larson, Superior Jetties, Drago and Sealegs.
"We are positive that boating in all forms is poised for growth in this country," says Maneck Davar, proprietor of Spenta Multimedia. "With its extensive coastline and inland waterways, coupled with more affluence and disposable income, India will become a big market for boats. As in other areas, the world will slowly recognise India's potential and MIBS will be the platform for boats and their development for the entire subcontinent."
MIBS is said to be the third 'official' calendar event in Mumbai after the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and The Times of India Mumbai Festival. With a population in excess of 12 million, the city is said to have more millionaires per square mile than Manhattan.
