Meridian named top flybridge builder

Meridian Yachts, a Brunswick Boat Group company, has been named as the best-selling brand of flybridge yachts in the US for the fourth year running.
According to results by Statistical Surveys Inc, Meridian captured nearly 20 per cent of the 11m-18m (35ft-60ft) flybridge yacht market in the US last year — its highest share ever. Sea Ray, Brunswick's other major brand in this segment, took the second highest share.
"2009 was a year of significant transition for Meridian," says Sea Ray president Rob Parmentier. "We moved all of Meridian's production from Seattle, Washington to Brunswick facilities on the east coast of Florida. We re-started production of two existing models and added the new 541 Sedan Bridge flagship.
"We'll continue bringing additional production online in 2010. Meridian's current leadership and future potential were significant considerations for Brunswick when making the substantial investment to move the brand from one corner of the country to the other. We're pleased with Meridian's retail performance during the transition."
Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Meridian Yachts builds Sedan, Aft-Cabin and Pilothouse motoryachts from 10m-18m (34ft-60ft). The company is part of the Sea Ray Group operating unit within the Brunswick Boat Group.
