Fincantieri begins work on 140m Victory
By IBI Magazine
Italian shipyard Fincantieri has begun work on the 140m (459ft) project Victory — the first order for a yacht of over 100m (328ft) placed since the onset of the global economic crisis at the end of 2008. Camper & Nicholsons International brokered the transaction, which was finalised at the end of last year. The yacht will be built to a new concept developed by Monaco-based yacht designer Espen Oeino. French designer Alberto Pinto is responsible for the interior.
The division Fincantieri Yachts will build Victory according to SOLAS regulations. Already in-build at Fincantieri's Muggiano yard is another yacht of 134m (440ft), which is due for delivery before the end of the year.
Fincantieri also builds merchant, cruise and naval vessels. Save up to 30% on IPC Media's entire marine portfolio
