Abel Yachts has selected Frigo Marine, the Dometic Marine dealer in Croatia, to supply air-conditioning, engine room ventilation and sanitation equipment for installation on two of its new 550 Outer Reef Trident models.

Built by Outer Reef Yachts at the Abel Yachts Shipyard in Croatia, the long-range 550 Outer Reef Yachts Tridents will each be fitted with a Dometic Cruisair direct expansion split-gas air-conditioning system, plus a single Turbo direct expansion air-conditioning unit in the crew area.

The order also includes customised Dometic Ship-Wide Ventilation products consisting of mist eliminators, dampers and mounted fans to provide air flow to the engine room, plus SeaLand MasterFlush toilets.

The equipment is being supplied by Zagreb-based Frigo Marine, which has an ongoing cooperation with Abel Yachts for the supply of sanitation and air-conditioning equipment.

“We are excited to further develop our relationship with Abel Yachts and Zephyr Technologies,” says Nenad Špiranec, general manager of Frigo Marine. “Outer Reef Yachts’ Trident Series build operations are now being carried out in the shipyard in Split, so we are looking forward to continuing our cooperation in the future with more hulls in production,” Špiranec adds.

Developed in cooperation with Setzer Yacht Architects, the Trident Series features a patented Tri-brid semi-displacement hull design to provide the speed, range and ability to cruise in comfort and safety. The attractive plumb bow hull design, European styling elements and modern interiors are introduced with the 550 Trident, with further length options planned.

Outer Reef Yachts’ world premiere of the new 550 Trident will take place at the Cannes Yachting Festival this week.

Dometic will also display its full range of marine engine room ventilation, in addition to HVAC, sanitation and galley equipment at the Southampton Boat Show. The event starts on Friday this week.
