New sport yacht is hull #3 of the 88 series built by Delta Carbon Yachts. Hull #4 is sold and under construction and will be delivered to her owner in the summer of 2017. The yacht-maker says hull #5 is under negotiation.
Delta Carbon Yachts has announced that its 25m flagship 88 all-carbon yacht will make her debut at the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November.
The yacht is hull #3 of the 88 series. The shipyard signed the contract with an American client in 2015. The yacht was delivered in July this year.
The Miami-based shipyard says hull #4 is sold and under construction and will be delivered to another American owner in the summer of 2017. Hull #5 is also under negotiation.
The 88 Carbon Sport yacht was first introduced in 2013 and represents Delta Powerboats’ entrance into the superyacht market. As the largest in a series of all-carbon fibre sport yachts, the 88 Carbon features joystick-controlled Volvo IPS propulsion, which drives the 80ft hull to a top speed of 38 knots while allowing for maneuverability and effortless owner/operator handling.
Delta Carbon Yachts says her lightweight construction combined with an efficient hull design by Lars Modin, and triple Volvo IPS 1200s afford a fuel efficiency that is up to 40% less than that of a yacht in a similar size. Indeed, the yacht took home the Motor Boat of the Year in 2015.
Designed to be run by the owner or by a small professional crew, the 88 Carbon accommodates up to ten guests. Accommodations include a full-beam king size master suite, a VIP and two twin cabins below deck. There are quarters for three crewmembers situated aft.
Commenting on the yacht’s debut in the US, Chapman Ducote, Delta Carbon Yachts’ director of the Americas, says: “Buyers in the American market are recognizing the exponential benefits of carbon fibre-built yachts. To have a yacht that is constructed of the strongest, most efficient material coupled with the best propulsion system in a size range that is sought-after by American yachtsmen is quite unique. We are thrilled to present to our US buyers a yacht that simply is like no other.”
Delta Carbon Yachts produces yachts ranging from 7m-26m (26ft-88ft). The yacht-maker is the US division of Swedish yacht-maker Delta Powerboats.
From its production facility in Sweden, Delta Powerboats has been designing and building sport, sailing and cruising boats since 2003. Current production models range from the 26 Carbon Day Boat to the 88 Carbon Sport Yacht with 465 vessels delivered to date.
