Speakers at the conference will explain how the boat’s end-of-life issue is being dealt with around the world and showcase the French pioneering experience in this field

The European Boating Industry (EBI) has announced that the conference “Boat’s end-of-life, truly the end?” will place on Tuesday 8 December at the Nautic boat show in Paris. The event is jointly organised by EBI, the French Federation of Nautical Industries (FIN) and Reed Expositions France.

Speakers from the European Commission, FIN, APER, UCINA Confindustria Nautica and European Boating Industry will explain how the boat’s end-of-life issue is being dealt with around the world and showcase the French pioneering experience in this field.

Ina addition, concrete solutions will be presented and the future challenges related to waste reuse and recycling will be examined.

The European Commission will present its approach and actions relating to waste and circular economy. Speakers will also address indicators and cornerstones of how to stimulate a boat disposal and recycling market in Europe.

The conference is free of charge and open to anyone interested in the subject. No prior registration is required but the Nautic show visitor pass to enter the premises.

The event in Paris is part of the recent developments in the field of boat recycling and dismantling, with the EU project Boat DIGEST having finished earlier this year.

The conference follows on the “Future of Yacht Recycling” held at METSTRADE few weeks ago and the newest boat dismantling scheme being recently launched in Sweden.

The event’s programme and the speakers’ list are available in English and French.
