Australian motoryacht builder Elandra Yachts has achieved multiple sales of its Elandra 53 semi-custom sports yacht following its unveiling in September last year.

The first two units were sold to New South Wales buyers. Elandra 53 No.2, with a gleaming gold hull colour, is in build at the company’s yard in Queensland and is scheduled for completion in May. A third boat in white gel coat-hulled boat will be completed in August.

“The market response has been phenomenal,” comments Elandra Yachts managing director Luke Durman. “It’s a great endorsement of the build quality, performance and value of the Elandra 53. It’s rewarding for the team to see the success of their hard work and dedication over the past few years.”

Commenting on the building progress, Durman said the team had already joined the hull and deck of Elandra 53 No.2. “The team is well into the engineering and assembly stage. We expect to deliver to her new owner in June after the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.”

Reinforcing the brand’s relationship with German engine supplier MAN, all three builds have been specified with MAN R6 800HP engines.

Elandra 53 No.2 closely follows all of the design elements included in the first boat launched in September.

In addition, Elandra Yachts has announced the appointment of Chris Hills of Australian Boat Sales to represent the company in Sydney Harbour. The dealership has operated from offices on the Harbour for the past 11 years.

Commenting on the appointment, Durman says: “Chris Hills and his team have demonstrated an understanding of our market niche and great enthusiasm for our brand. It is important that the person representing the Elandra brand has an appreciation and a very good understanding of Elandra in terms of design, build quality, engineering and performance.”

Elandra 53 No.1 is berthed at Birkenhead Point, Sydney Harbour’s largest marina, which is also home to Australian Boat Sales.
