UK boatbuilder Oyster has announced that it has signed a contract for hull #2 of the new Oyster 675. The order is for a Chinese customer who will base the yacht in Mainland China.

Oyster will start fit-out the new yacht in June this year and she will be handed over in the UK in early summer 2017 before being shipped to China.

The build of the second Oyster 675 will overlap the completion of the hull #1 by a couple of months. Sailing trials of the first Oyster 675 will take place in the Solent this summer.

David Tydeman, Oyster CEO, comments: “Over the past few years Chinese interest in Oyster yachts has been increasing steadily and we have sold a few new and brokerage yachts to Asian clients, mostly however to be based in the Mediterranean or Australia. This contract for a yacht to be based in China is very exciting and no doubt will help our international marketing efforts in Asia.”
