Seawind Catamarans has expanded its portfolio with Seawind 1160 Resort. The new 11.5m (38ft) model targets the day charter market and has been designed to carry up to 43 guests.

Seawind 1160 Resort is available in both a sail and motoryacht version. Two sail versions are already sold.

The Australian catamaran builder says this new day charter boat is suitable for use at beach resorts, harbour sailings, whale watching, scuba/snorkeling excursions and for day charter party bookings.

The catamaran builder explains that clever use of space and seating layout have enabled a huge passenger capacity without overcrowding the usable space onboard.

“As a purpose-built day charter catamaran, the Seawind 1160 Resort has been developed around the owner/investors best interests. Maximum passenger capacity per foot of waterline is the key to any day charter boat formula, offering premium earning potential with minimal startup and running costs,” reads a Seawind statement.

Seawind general manager Mike Rees explains: “We have successfully delivered and exceeded our brief of a safe, cost effective and passenger friendly day charter boat, which is a great fit with a range of day charter excursions to suit any operator. It is designed and built to meet CE and/or Australian category D survey.”

In addition, Seawind says the new model has been made to deliver a low maintenance, passenger friendly vessel, easily operated by one or a crew of two.
