UK-based glazing manufacturer Trend Marine Trend Marine has recently completed the supply of all glazing to the 125m Maryah.
Trend was commissioned to conduct a turnkey supply service, starting from a 3D digitising service to complete manufacture and installation of all glazing. On its launch Maryah became the world’s 15th largest yacht.
This former Russian research vessel was entirely rebuilt in Greece and designed by H2 Design in London. The yacht can carry over 50 passengers and complies with full SOLAS & Lloyds regulations.
“Trend Marine is proud to have been chosen to be the complete glazing supplier,” says the company in a statement. Trend supplied products ranging from complex large format curved panels to A60 fire retardant double glazed window units. In total more than 450 glazed panels were delivered.
The company’s engineering team was on hand to calculate and reduce glass thickness to remove the requirement for storm covers in certain areas. Temperature reduction and UV protection was also achieved through the use of insulated glazing units.
“At 125m this was the largest yacht project we have undertaken to date and with some very complex curved glass we are proud to include in our portfolio,” concludes the statement.
