Strong sales and an attendance increase of over 15% left exhibitors happy at the 2015 Moncton Boat Show, held from March 27-29 at the Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Once again co-located with the New Brunswick Sportsmen’s Show and the Dieppe Fly Fishing Forum, the Moncton Boat Show attracted nearly 10,900 people over the weekend, significantly up from the approximately 9,200 people who attended last year.
“Attendance was up a healthy 15% this year,” said show manager Scott Sprague. “People were anxious to put the long winter in the rearview mirror and start thinking about the upcoming boating and fishing seasons, seeking out outdoor products and services. It’s all great therapy from the brutal maritime winter we had.”
Exhibitors were pleased not only with the overall attendance, but also with the quality of visitors and robust sales.
“The 2015 Moncton Boat Show was a definite success for us,” said Kenneth Savoy at Cabano Marine et Sport Inc. “It was the best show we’ve been to in the past two years – we are still writing orders today with more to come. We were happy to be part of this year’s show and are already looking forward to being involved in a bigger way next year.”
“We had the best Friday we’ve ever had at any show, at any time,” echoed Brad Fleet at MCT Insurance. “Overall we had a fantastic show – we talked to tons of quality visitors.”
“Our 2015 Moncton Boat Show sales results were our best ever since we started attending this show,” said Dave Trott at Seamasters Services. “We were very pleased with the customer traffic and the quality of the customer at this show.”
This year’s Moncton show may have been the unwitting beneficiary of a severe winter storm that all but shut down the nearby city of Halifax, Nova Scotia a few weeks earlier. That storm raged for a week coincident with the Halifax Boat Show, severely impacting both attendance and sales.
The 2016 Moncton Boat Show will be held at the Coliseum from March 25-27.
